Ngā kōrero
One More Day
The name came out of a kōrero at one of our wānanga. If you can talk yourself into one more day — just that one — then maybe that is enough to keep you here. And tomorrow you do it again.
One day at a time.
Before you watch
These kōrero are about suicide, grief and loss. They are told with care and without detail that could put anyone at risk — but they may still land heavily, especially if you have lost someone. Watch with somebody if you can. Stop whenever you want. 1737 is there the whole time.
Te whare kōrero
The library
None of these are long. Take them at whatever pace suits — one is plenty for a day.
Ngā rārangi
How the series works
Episodes come in blocks of ten — each block one person’s kōrero, start to finish. None of them runs longer than three and a half minutes.
The first ten are a māmā talking about losing her boy: the worst day, the hugs that never end, and what she found on the other side of it. Watch them in order if you can. They are short on purpose, so you can stop between them.
More voices will follow, and they will appear here when they are ready.
Watching with someone else
These are good to watch together — at a hui, in a staffroom, around a kitchen table. Use them however is useful to your whānau. If you want them on a USB for somewhere with no internet, ask us and we’ll sort it.
Kia mōhio tonu mai
The monthly pānui
Once a month: when the next wānanga is on, and when new kōrero go up. That is all it is. Tell us any time and we will take you straight back off the list.
